Sophie is 1 Week Old!

Sophie is 1 week old already! Greg went back to work yesterday and I had my first day alone with my two girls, everything went amazingly well! We have had our challenges with Cali since bringing home the new baby, she has been acting out and crying a lot. It has been pretty hard to deal with but yesterday she seem to turn a corner and was really good and helpful all day! I cannot even believe how much Cali and Sophie look alike, every time I take a picture I think this could be a picture of Cali when she was just born...it's really amazing and I have to remember how much Greg and his brother Chris look alike and then it makes sense! Sophie is such a good little baby, she is so content for the majority of the time and only really gets fussy when she is trying to work out her bowels. I am so impressed with this little girl, last night she slept in 4 hour spurts....I never expected this to happen so soon because it was probably 3 or more months before Cali did that. Sophie is very alert when she is awake and already noticing Christmas lights and different objects around the rooms. She has even given little smiles since the second day she was home and even if it was just gas, I'll take it! I am so excited to say that I am successfully nursing Sophie, I didn't know if I could so since I can I have been just thrilled! We have our 3rd Midwife appointment at home today, I am looking forward to see if Sophie is gaining weight. The last 2 times she was weighed she had gone from 8lbs 6.5oz to 7lbs 14oz and then to 7lbs 10oz. So hopefully this time her weight will go up. They are concerned that Sophie is not peeing and pooping as much as she should but she seems perfectly fine to me! Some exciting news to report...Sophie's stinky umbilical cord fell off this morning...yay! We just love this little girl to pieces, she is so special and such a wonderful baby! We love you to Cali, just as much as ever...you are both our special little girls!
