My little girl is growing up so fast...

Cali is just over 2 1/2 years old now and she is the absolute joy of my life! I have been enjoying watching her grow so much, she is so intelligent and just sucks in all the information you can throw at her. Cali can do mostly everything by herself now, always saying "I can do it Mommy". I think it is so fun that Cali is the most girly girl with the nail polish, crossing her legs and always wanting to wear a pretty dress....but she is also so into mechanical things, dirt, bugs and anything that goes Vrroommm, don't know where that could have come from! :) Lately Cali has been telling us that she "loves" things and "my favorite things are", it's really sweet to hear her say those words and to know what it means to have favorites! Cali can be pretty bossy at times and she thinks that she rules the world, I think she gets it from the tv and Greg thinks she is just copying me.....nah, couldn't be me! She is also just as sweet as can be, compassionate, sympathetic and loves to give big hugs and kisses. Cali has been spending lots of time with Lilah and Declan now that Steph has taken over watching her, it's really neat to see how different kids teach other kids to play and learn. Since going there everyday I have notice that Cali is able to play more easily by herself, not needing my constant attention. I also just really enjoy watching all the kids grow and change and love each other! I can't wait to watch her as a big sister to our next baby which is due in November, I think she is going to be such a big help and a wonderful sister!

A visit with Great Nana!

Cali and I went with Mom/Nana to visit Great Nana on Sunday morning before heading off to Aaron and Steph's to pick veggies, thanks again for all you hard work with the garden! It's really fun to watch Cali and Nana interact, Nana really likes to hold Cali's hand and they talk about their nail polish a lot! :) Cali decided to take Great Nana for a ride down the hallway and Nana didn't even mind! :)

Boy is that tutu ever a big hit with the girls, Cali has worn hers all day everyday since she got it and even wants to wear it to bed!

Family Fun!

I decided to make a dinner tonight and mostly everyone made it! We had such a nice time and the kids found a new toy to play with... :)

Lilah and Declan came to visit us this weekend! Dad and Jeanie came over and made us all a pancake/waffle brunch, it was so yummy!! :) Yummy, yummy....Grandpa even got a cheer from the kids for making the pancakes!!

Yummy Veggies From the Trickett Garden!

Tonight I made a Sesame Ginger Stir fry with all the fresh veggies Steph and Aaron picked for us. There was garlic, onion, beans, cabbage, carrots and peas picked from their garden! It was so yummy and thank you so much for sharing with us! :) Cali was the first one at the table tonight when she heard she was going to have noodles with vegetables from Uncle Aaron & Auntie Stephie's garden...."It's so good Mommy, so good!"

Baby Update...

Today I am 25 weeks and 5 days pregnant! I had another midwife appointment and my belly measured 24 cm and the baby's heartbeat was around 140 bpm. I got the news back that I don't have gestational diabetes, which I was sure I didn't have and is really good to hear! I have been having a lot of trouble with my legs in the past couple weeks. My legs have been swelling quite a bit and I have also noticed the veins on my legs taking over....I didn't even know that I have varicose veins all over the back of my left leg and I am not thrilled to find this out! So I was given a prescription to go get custom leggings made to help the blood to not pool in my legs. I can't imagine that in August I will be very happy to wear tights that start at my feet and go over my belly....no, probably not! Ah, the things you never think about happening when you want to have babies! I have to admit they are definitely worth it all....but why do I have to have all the ugly veins!?!? I really do feel pregnant now, I've been getting some comments about how I've all the sudden popped out lately and I do agree...getting less and less comfortable! Cali is pretty excited about the baby, she gives my tummy kisses and says "hello baby!" About 99% of the time if you ask Cali what the baby will be, she says "a baby sister Mommy", we'll see if she's right in November! :)

Long Weekend Fun on the Okanagan Lake!

We had such a fun weekend, we headed up to the Okanagan in hopes to get a campsite. Everything has been booked so far in advance that we just had to take a chance and it worked out in our favour, Greg just had to wait in line from 5am to 9am to get our name on a wait list! This campsite is about 20 mins from Peachland. Dad and Jeanie came to hang out with us for a couple of days while spending the nights at Jeanie's brother's house. We were so glad they came, we had so much fun!

My little poser! We went to Kelowna to check out the jet ski racing that was going on but it turned out to be really expensive so we spent a couple hours at the water park, which wasn't planned which is why Cali is not wearing her swimsuit!

I found these cookies at Walmart that had a layer of chocolate on them and I thought they would be perfect for smores. Since there was a fire ban on the BBQ had to do and boy were they good! :)

On Sunday night I made the call to go to Peachland for dinner. Our fridge was working off and on and everything I tried to make for dinner ended up being spoiled....so out for dinner we went and ice cream for dessert!

Over all we had a nice weekend away minus the fridge on the fritz and my legs being swollen from my hips to my toes....I definitely feel pregnant now!
