Our Boating Adventure!

We planned to go on the boat yesterday and I thought it would be fun to take Lilah and Mom along with us.....what we didn't know was what an adventure it would turn out to be!! We launched the boat in Kilby and it would take us a hour to get to Andy's friends cabin, which is only accessed by boat. On the way there the engine started smoking but the boys got it all under control and it was smooth sailing from there. We got to the cabins and had lunch, Lilah made all sorts of new friends and was off playing with them the whole time. The plan was to be back home by 2pm, so at 12:45pm we started to head back.....I couldn't believe that Andy and Greg didn't make time to wake board, they said the water wasn't smooth enough and it was too cold (I think they are getting picky in their old age!!) Anyways, so we start heading back and the water was really choppy and the wind was really picking up and then the boat shut off! Oh no!!! So from then on about every 30 seconds the engine died and the waves started crashing over the front of the boat and spraying us with cold water. We tried to keep dry by ducking under the towels, but we ran out of dry towels too quickly. It was actually pretty funny at the time watching Greg get just soaked and watch the water spray Mom in the face and hit the board behind her and spray her in the back as well...I couldn't stop laughing! :) Okay, so by the time we got towed to Harrison and the boys went and got the trucks it was 5pm! So much for being a morning trip but after all we got back safely and what did Lilah tell her Mommy " Mommy I cried and cried"....she did a little but I think she had fun and was a really good girl!
